Anyone here watch Joss Whedon's DOLLHOUSE?

Anyone? Anyone?

It may be the only thing keeping me halfway sane through the True Blood hiatus.

I started watching it at the beginning of the season, but I just didn't care for it. Then I read a few reviews stating the show got much better as the season went on so I think I should give it another go.

I never cared for Eliza Dushku when she was on "Buffy" (couldn't stand Faith), but I like Joss's stuff enough to start watching "Dollhouse" again.

It does get better. I started watching because it was Joss and by episode 5 he had proved himself again to me. By the end of the first season I was literally cheering at some of the twists!

The first season was AWFUL up until episode 5 or 6, then it took a MAJOR turn in plot and quality. Word has it FOX had finally loosened the reins on Joss and allowed him to make the seedier show he'd envisioned.

I thought the season 2 premier was fair, not great. And the ratings were lower than expected. But if Joss follows through on some of the plot suggestions made at the close of season 1 -- and assuming the show's ratings warrant its survival through the midseason -- we might be in for some pretty good stuff.

Oh, and Eliza. rolleyes She's hot. There's no debate there. But the viewer comments I've seen online routinely complain she's the least interesting character on the show. lol I hope the writers give her character some edge in weeks to come.

Did Joss Whedlon do Dr Horrible's Sing Along Blog? I just watched that and thought it was pretty good. Good songs, and very silly, but kind of funny.

It starts a bit slow, but I found myself liking it quite a bit. Watched it twice.

I watched it when it debuted, like, a year and a half ago (as an actual video blog - I think I even had to wait for each installment). I'm gonna have to go back and see it again. smile

It was something Joss put together during the writer's strike, mainly out of boredom.

So let me get this straight: you really like Joss Whedon's Dollhouse and are also a fan of True Blood, but have never seen Joss' Buffy The Vampire Slayer TV series? disbelief

After I watched the DVD of last seasons Epitaph One that wasn't air on Fox, I'm sticking to this show hell or high water.

I have no idea what this ridiculous show is about. I've watched parts of it in the past, and it's just unwatchable to me. Yet a good show like Sarah Connor Chronicles get canceled. It's insane what they do in TV now.

OK... a brief pitch:

A high-tech underground organization in L.A. rents humans with custom-uploaded personalities, "dolls," to well-to-do clients. But can the operation keep its existence a secret from FBI investigation... and all parties involved safe from gradually self-aware rogue dolls? hmm

The show was teetering on the brink of cancellation. But fan outcry saved it in the 11th hour. Fans literally flooded email and voicemail boxes at FOX in the show's behalf. And while television ratings were far lower than desirable in the first season, the show apparently has really, really strong online and DVR viewership.
