my new specs, conquistadors, painting and aztecs

I got a camera finally!

The full gamut of pics are on facebook for those who know me there, but here are a few from the condo painting festivities today! I had to get rid of the CRAZY ass mural. And speaking of ass, there was lots of it on my wall. No more.

what exactly is Anx doing?...he has NO paint drips on his clothes...he looks like he's critically assessing the situation...like a foreman or something. Perhaps he is getting ideas for decorating your condo?...like a mural of David Bowie..?
Darin on the other hand looks exhausted from having done all the work...

I think they had just gotten there. Darin was wearing painting clothes that were pre-spattered. Chris was wearing clean clothes. Although come to think of it, he came out more paint free than anyone else. I still have spatters on my arms and some in my hair. redface

I really love murals on other people's walls. Not on my own although I have toyed around with having the Sesame Street neighborhood put on the wall of my Elmo room. One of my friends in Portland painted the Smurf village on his newborn's wall and it was great. But chances are the person buying his house wouldn't think so.

I can't wait to see the outcome. What colors are you painting the condo?

I don't want to post it here. I mean, it's blocked but you can see a pic of him. And the background is clearly the red that used to be in the place so I am dead sure it's him. We think he was the model for the aztec warrior (not the one holding the girl, the other one). They decided he was compensating for something.

The one I got on sale at Target. lol

It's a Fujifilm, I guess. I'm no photographer. I never take pics. I just wanted something easy and affordable.

I love the idea of murals too. This one was just, I mean, I can't even say. lol If a friend painted something that wasn't quite so overwhelming and more in my general color scheme, I could go with that. I could see commissioning johnart to do something on my wall, actually. If I could afford him anyway. lol

As for colors, I just don't know yet. I'm having a REALLY hard time with that. I have very specific taste and I'm very picky and nothing I can come up with seems right. I'm planning to do a light bubblegum pink for the bathroom, that's the only thing I have picked out so far. And I definitely need a light color for the bedroom as there are no windows. I've been thinking about lime green and cream and grey and red but I just don't know what to do yet.

Actually, 2 coats of Killz (super primer) covered it. I'm gonna look again today when it's fully dry, but I think that did it.

You should do an episode of Cribs for us once you finish painting and organizing. The org edition of Cribs would be great.

Yeah, at first look, I was all "wha? Why did she paint over it?"
