I doubt it. The McLean was introduced at the very height of the low-fat obsession. If it didn't succeed then, it never will. I actually didn't think it tasted too bad. The carageenan didn't add any flavor of its own. (Yes, it's derived from seaweed. But that doesn't mean it tastes like seaweed in the burger - any more than it tastes like seaweed in any of the gazillions of other products it's used in - like low-fat ice cream.) The burger was flavorless because that's what happens when you suck the fat out of something. Fat = flavor. Period.

i want to try one, too! i totally remember the McDLT from when i was a kid. i used to like them, though i don't really know that it made much of a difference to separate the cold part from the hot part.

McDLT http://www.youtube.com/wa...TSdUOC8Kac The McDLT (McDonald’s Lettuce and Tomato) was sold in a novel form of packaging. The meat and bottom half of the bun were prepared separately from the lettuce, tomato, American cheese, pickles, sauces, and top half of the bun. Both were then packaged into a specially designed two-sided container. The consumer was then expected to finalize preparation of the sandwich by combining the hot and cool sides just prior to eating. The first problem was that the packaging was unwieldy – but even worse: who wants to buy fast food and then put it together themselves? The atrocious video above is almost reason enough for this incredible failure of a product. It stars the famous Jason Alexander in one of the most awful adverts from the 80s. This burger eventually found its way back to McDonald’s rebranded, restyled, and actually put together for you, as the Big N’ Tasty. I distinctly remember this one, and thought (at the time) that it was the greatest idea since sliced cinnamon bread. But I guess we're just too damned lazy to be bothered to slap 2 pieces of a sandwich together, eh? If Prince.Org shuts down, I'm writing SLAVE on my left buttcheek!

I don´t understand why Ray Kroc found hotdogs unhygienic. I tried the Arch Deluxe in 1996 ( in Minneapolis Another failure would be the McCiabatta burger they had over here not too long ago. There was a HUGE difference between the look in the commercial and the burger that you actually got. Here in Germany, they also used to sell something called McRib, made of pork. A friend of mine was almost addicted to that. I once tried a special burger at a McDonalds in Turkey, it was called the McExtra and it tasted pretty good. They added a few spices like paprika flakes and other stuff to the burger and it tasted a bit like döner kebab or köfte. They also sell BigMacs with ketchup upon request.....because I can´t stand that yellow BigMac sauce. Here in Germany, they are not allowed to make the BigMac with ketchup but you can buy ketchup seperately and order a BigMac without sauce ( yes, over here you gotta pay for ketchup They use to have the McRib here in the U.S. a few years back. Oh my God, you had to pay for the ketchup, man tlak about cheap.

Believe it or not, they are pretty good. Seem to be tad too pricey for something the size of a small hot dog bun with a bit of lobster in it. Is it really lobster or some fake surimi stuff? And how much are they these days? I guess the 5.99 mentioned above refers to US dollars, right ? Is there anything else at Canadian McDonald´s restaurants that is "typically" Canadian, like poutain or something like that ?

It's real and probably atlantic lobster...and on the east coast local lobster is cheap. And I do think that they have Poutine as well - on the east coast, quebec and ontario for sure. I'm not sure about western canada though. Blah
