I'm sure he does, but I haven't been fortunate enough to hear him expound on them as of yet.

I knew one guy who did pretty well out of it.
He told me during his divorce his wife didnt know he had a separate account with over £100,000 in it.
His way of working was to bet high amounts on "sure bets".Maybe bet £5000 to win £1000.
He admits to having a gambling problem though.

The guy I went to prom with my sophomore year is evidently a professional poker player. He tried to brag about it at a class reunion, but I didn't really care to talk to him. shrug

I bet on Manchester United to win by at least three or four clear goals every English Premiership match, during the 07-08 season i did quite well indeed, i reigned in my gambling last year, but the year before was sweet.

I hate them, but they have the capacity to make you money.

I had a tenner on them to beat Barcelona 2-1 and Ronaldo the first goal scorer odds at 55-1.They were piss poor that night.

That's gambling tho aint it? way i see it, is i quit smoking and a tenner a week is better than £6 a day on cigs, i usually finish up over the year, but not by much. ultimately, it might not be worth it.

I get fed up of calling results and not finding the time to place that bet, it happens a lot, it seems. lol

I've known several through the years. I don't know about rules they had; most of them swore by the Super System book, though.

tell me about it!!!
The amount of times ive predicted a result and not had any money on it far outweigh the times ive backed a hunch and lost.
As soon as i put money on it i jinx the outcome.
I think Liverpool will be worth a watching the coming season wink

I agree completely, good chance of winning it, if they can start like they finished. Proper gamble, Man City to finish in the top four this next season, put your bet on now, that chequebook is coming out soon and Tevez will defect.

I like to gamble at things I can control. Like shooting pool or playing golf.

1. Know when to hold 'em.
2. Know when to fold 'em.
3. Know when to walk away.
4. Know when to run.
5. Never count your money, when you're sittin' at the table.
6. There will time enough for countin', when the dealin's done.

This is untoward! This is not toward!

no i have no tips cause i don't have the kinda money to learn what to do.

it is necessary to help others, not only in our prayers, but in our daily lives. If we find we cannot help others, the least we can do is to desist from harming them.

Yeah, I know some that are legit and some that aren't.

If you're gonna do it legit, be prepared to go broke a few times. What that really means is, you need to prepare your backers that you might lose their stake from time to time, so they need to fund you up front only a portion of what they'd totally commit to you. Because you're probably going to come back for more at some point.

If you're gonna do it on the sly, same rule but also, make sure you pay your debts on time. If you welch on something, or are late, it will lead to big trouble.

Also, my dad made his living gambling before he married my mom. In fact, he had to push the wedding back a week because he lost his dough in a poker game. Fortunately, he made it back the next week and they got married.

He was a great card player. Gin rummy, poker and blackjack were his best games.

For gin rummy and poker, it's all about knowing what the other guy has. You have to be real good at math and REAL observant to succeed.

In blackjack, my dad taught me a unique way to play. Now, every "book" out there has odds tables and probabilities. They'll tell you what to do in every circumstance - hit, stand, double or cry.

But my dad's philosophy was that the only absolute certainty in blackjack is that you cannot win if you bust. Even if the dealer goes on to bust, if you busted first, you lose. Think about that - the house still wins even if they lose.

So his deal was to avoid busts whenever possible. If he had a 12, 13, 14 most of the time he'd stand. You'd be surprised how many times he won a hand with a 13, while all the players that went by the "book" busted and lost.

That strategy isn't going to tip the odds out of the house's favor, and you well get some grief from so-called "experts" at the table, but I've found I do better than they do when I play.

Just make sure you don't sit in the last spot. People will get (wrongly) pissed if you pass on taking a card that would have busted the dealer.

My cousin is a professional gambler. He's a frequent guest with high rollers at the Mahogany Room and travels a fair bit. He has entered Grand Master Tournaments too (in blackjack, baccarat).
