Repo man runs over woman

A 41-year-old woman is recovering from injuries she suffered Sunday night from a tow truck driver trying to repossess her son’s pickup truck.

The woman, Tina Ferguson, was run over by the tow truck, police said Tuesday.

• Metro and state news Officer Timothy Minter of the Floyd County Police Department said Ferguson was asking to speak to driver Calvin Wade, also 41, to show her papers authorizing him to take the pickup but he didn’t stop. She was hit by a mirror and fell under the tow truck, Minter said.

“It’s under investigation as to whether it was a legitimate repo or not,” Minter said. “At this point we haven’t seen any papers.”

Minter said Wade is free on bond.

Tina Ferguson’s family told Fox 5 TV she was being treated at Erlinger Medical Center in Chattanooga.

I hope she sues him and his company out of business. Legitimized thuggery.

Usually, you get all sorts of notices that your account is delinquent. If a repo man is called in, it's probably for a good reason.

Repossession is not a happy activity, but very necessary.

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

Of course but a repo man can call the cops if someone is in the way like that and someone should have the right to ask for proof that they legitimately are there to repo the car.

But it's not their car. They signed a contract and part of the contract says that if terms are not met, the property is turned over to the lending party. The lending party then takes the step of hiring somebody to collect the property.

In other words: if she had this car on her property and the ownership turned over to the bank, then she is in possession of the bank's automobile. If she did not turn over the auto and would not let a repo company get it back, then she would be (in essence) holding onto "stolen" property.

How does she know that it's a legitimate act though? It could be a scam lol

Why didn't her son try to stop them from taking his truck? People need to learn to pay their bills.
