when I was young, I'd hammer the long island iced tea's and jager pretty hard. It's funny to me to see people my age still doing it. There are drinks for when you're 21, and there are drinks for when you're grown up.






I had about 8 double vodka tonics last friday.

I've never been a big drinker (I started to taste alcohol at 27 )

Theres still many drinks I can't stand:
- dry, aqueous and bitter wines
- strong beers
- pastis (I hate anise).
- Whiskey...

For three quarts/liters of hippocras

3 litres of white or red wine
180 grams brown sugar. (or alternatively, honey, for those who likes it)
3 large soup spoons of honey (or alternatively, some fruit syrup)
30 grams powdered or grated cinnamon
2 large soup spoons fresh grated ginger
1 coffee spoon grated nutmeg
1 coffee spoon mace (spice), plus cloves and cardamom, everything being crushed to powder
1 pinch black pepper
-Crush all the spices in a mortar, and put it in a large bowl.

-Moisten the mix with a small amount of wine.

-Add the sugar. (If you use honey, heat it in a bain-marie to make it liquid.)

-Heat the wine on a very low fire. Do not let it boil.

-Add the spice soup to the hot wine.

Pour the mix into jars and let it rest for a week, then strain and filter before bottling.

Let the hippocras rest for at least a month before drinking. Sealed bottles will keep for years, but once opened, the contents are better drunk within the week.

I have a random drink or beer/wine now and again but to get/be drunk - I guess it's just not for me

I'll drink pretty much anything, up to and including absinthe.

Can't do tequila though - doesn't agree with me. Had a couple of bad nights after it, wondering if it was possible to vomit more than my body weight.

A kid I grew up with got alcohol poisoning off Cisco.

I got so fucked up off Mad Dog 20/20, I threw up everywhere and my best friend was trying to clean it up before my mom got home. I remember her slipping in my vomit, falling and sliding around in it because her ass was so drunk too. But she got it all cleaned up and my mother never knew.
