I believe I had 2 periods where I went back for 4-5 months, but I've basically been on my own since then.

I left for good at 22.

Now I'm back, but not by choice. I am recently divorced and am going to nursing school to try and make a better life for myself and my kids.

No way I could get a place of my own and pay all of my bills on what I get in child support from my ex. So, I'm living with my mom. Most of the time it's OK. Sometimes I want to scream though. lol I do look forward to being on my own again.

That's a little complicated. I didn't officially move out of my mother's house until last year, when I was 23.

But between 21 and when I moved out of the house, though it was my mother's house she didn't live there. She lived in another town altogether and my sister, some friends and I rented the house from her.

Before that I was living at home with my mother, but I'd been paying rent and buying my own groceries since the month I turned 18.

My moving out was a gradual process.

I moved out of my parents' house at 18 to go off to college. When I graduated at 23, I lived with them again for about 5 months until I got my own place.

Never really moved out, I ran away at 21.
Wanted to move out earlier but I was in charge of my mum since I was 16. When she left for the mental institution I couldn't imagine staying with her loony ex so I left and started a homeless experience for one year. One year later I came back to normal life, job market and get a place to rent. Then I came back to "my previous place" with my man and two policemen to get my stuff back and moved out for good.

I was pregnant and my mother told me there was no way I was having a baby while living with her.

It was one of the best things she's ever done for me.

I thought child support was strictly for the kids, not for you to live on.

Working while going to school isn't an option? I know it isn't easy, trust me.

I moved out at 18 to go to college, but I don't count that b/c I lived in the dorms and I had to come back home every summer. I moved back home to live at 21 when my roomate graduated before me. I'm still living at home, hoping to move out soon after I graduate in December.

I kind of want to stay home so that I can stack that cheese, but sometimes living with my mom just gets on my last good nerve. I love her tho. lol

After college, I stayed until I was 25 and my school loans were all paid. It's nice being debt free.
