Gilligan's Island Feature Film coming...more Beyonce!

http://www.movieweb.com/n...ahfjiqc8eh

Sherwood Schwartz, creator of The Brady Bunch, and his son Lloyd Schwartz are finally moving ahead on a big screen version of Gilligan's Island, a 1969 sitcom which the legendary producer also created. And if the two Schwartzs have it their way, Michael Cera will be slipping into that famous red shirt and white hat as Gilligan. They are also currently trying to nab Beyonce as sexy movie star Ginger.

Speaking with Tv Guide during his induction into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Sherwood explained that a deal, "Just happened in the last 48 hours. I can't take this much excitement at my age." Dawn Wells, who played Mary Ann on the hit series, likes the idea of Beyonce playing Ginger and stated, "There isn't anybody sexier than Beyonce!"

The Gilligan's Island movie doesn't have a set start date at this time, and no actors have been signed just yet. You can expect to hear more on this project in the very near future.

This cant not be terrible!! You know beyonce will not turn down an acting role...jesus h christ...

beyonce gifs roll out!

RIP 1958-2009 broken Michael Jackson

The PS3 is cheaper and thinner, but still won't play anything that made it famous. It's like if Prince was a game console.

My friends and I got bored, so we decided 2 cast our own "Gilligan's Island"

Gilligan - Josh Radnor
The Skipper - John C. Rielly
Mary Ann - Anne Hathaway
Ginger - Scarlett Johanssen (although we decided that if the role were 2 be recast as non-caucasion, we thought Gabrielle Union would be great)
The Professor - Jon Hamm
The Millionaire - Elliot Gould
and his wife - Blythe Danner

biggrin

Brevity is underappreciated.

Maybe there will be an actual plane crash and Beyonce will be lost at sea FOREVER.

Have I mentioned she's a no-talent skank today?

Well, I just did!

This is untoward! This is not toward!

Even if Bee wasn't in it, it sounds like this movie would suck major hyheena's ass!

I've built a wall not to block anyone out, but to see who loves me enough to climb over it.

HEEEEELLLLL TO THA NOOOOO! omfg

WTF is with all of the Hollywood studios remaking old movies and TV shows anyway? Don't they realize that the reason many of these shows became popular in the first place is because they were campy to begin with?!? The whole idea of Gilligan's Island in the first place was that they went on a three-hour boat tour, yet the passengers managed to pack three months worth of clothes and supplies. hmm They've already tried remaking Knight Rider and the Bionic Woman and those shows were painful to watch. And Bewitched sucked as well. ill

A few years ago, one of the movie studios went up to Chris Rock and asked him if he wanted to star in a movie version of Sanford and Son. He nearly went ballistic at the studio for even proposing the idea in first place, because he said that the reason Sanford and Son was so popular in the first place was because it was essentially a vehicle for Redd Foxx to do his standup routine in a sitcom format, not because people enjoyed the exploits of a junk and antique dealer and his son. Fortunately, they never went forward with that movie. I believe they also eventually scrapped the movie version of Dallas as well because they couldn't come up with a plausible storyline for a two hour movie.

If they keep it true to what they show was it would be good, but film makers of today what to put their own "spin" on it and ruin it. They feel the need to change things which just ends up making it crap.
