my birth mother- its funny because most of what she knows she knows intuitively.It's a spiritual knowledge, peaceful and nonjudgemental. It's like she thinks like me even though our life experiences differ wildly. This woman knows me and my children better than people who have been around us our whole lives.

I would say my mom however for years she's been thinking I have blue eyes. So if she doesn't even know her own daughter's eye color then I question what else she doesn't really know about me.

I guess my gay-husband and best friend, Martin. Another of my exes, Mary, probably sees me in a more complete way, but she doesn't understand what she sees. I confuse the fuck out of her by managing to be emotional and logical at the same time, cuz her world is very black-and-white. Martin understands the shades of gray, but I don't think he actually sees all of the pieces to the same extent. And my family, well, we're close, but I protect them from a lot of shit that I don't think they want to know.

Ultimately, I don't feel really known/understood by anybody. People tend to try to pigeonhole me, and they always end up making incorrect assumptions.
