Harmless flirting is ok if you're not doing it in front of his chick.

but if you're doing it to try and get him interested you, that's totally inappropriate.

This is why I never flirt unless I want the person.

well, he should be the one asking himself that question. Would his gf be okay with that? But yes, should you encourage it? It depends on the relationship.

Personally I think flirting is generally harmless. I may be committed, but I cannot shut down completely to the outside world. Or at least, I don't want to. I want to treat a woman like a woman and that might mean flirting at times. It's a basic part of life.

But I wouldn't want to do it in any way that's disrespectful to my gf, gives the wrong impression, or act like she's not there and flirt with you.

Depends. If he has a girlfriend, and tells you that, but you are still trying to holla anyway when he is not interested, then maybe fall back.

BUT, if he tells you he has a girlfriend and is still hollering @ you and you two are vibing or what not see where it takes you. You never know.

Yes, if he's flirting back with her there, that's not cool.
But I would say it depends on the level of flirting.

If you wouldn't say it with her standing there . . . probably best to keep it to yourself.

Yes. While technically he's still "single" (assuming he's not engaged or married) I still think it's tacky at best and disrespectful at worst.

it is tacky... there's plenty other single men out there to flirt with ..... no need to steal somebody else's property ...

It all depends on intent and perception. If it's harmless and you know it, and he knows it, and she knows it then have at 'er. Or if you're flirting just to have fun it's usually harmless enough. But when there's real lust behind that flirting, tread lightly.

It's not that The Joker's gay. What he is, is Batsexual. He'd be whacking it to Batsy whether our hero had girl parts or boy parts underneath that rubber. batman

well, I don't agree about owning each other, but the question was about having a girlfriend (and I don't really feel there's a difference anyway)

I wouldn't say so. No one person is ever another person's property or posession.

I agree. Even if you are married I have a real problem with the word "property". IMO that kind of thinking is detrimental to the relationship and the individuals. Marriage for me is about two people that are already happy on their own who want to come together and be partners for life. I know not everyone defines it that way and not everyone feels the need to get married and that's cool. But, whether I'm married or not I will NEVER be anyone's property.

Are you asking what he thinks his "status" is or if what he thinks about the flirting?

If he considers himself taken then he shouldn't want the attention. If he is OK with the flirting then he's a dope and needs a brick
