my very first art teacher who i took summer classes with, she was a short petite woman with long black hair to the floor that she mostly wore in a bun.
She always wore long dresses and mostly wore black.
She was very beautiful, im not sure if she was from south america or maybe france. I was a bit too young to understand ethnicities. I just know she wasnt from America and was quite sophisticated and didnt belong where she was, far as no one around was of her pedigree or caliber.
Absolutely beautiful. I was delighted the following school year when i walked into the cafeteria and saw her sitting with the teachers. She was going to be my art teacher at school that year too!

Mrs. Simmons, my fourth grade teacher.

When I was in Little League, I had to pitch a game in which my Dad was the umpire behind the plate. Due to pitching restrictions, I was the only pitcher left and to put it mildly, I sucked big time that night. But I had to pitch the whole game - there was no other option.

I couldn't get anyone out. I couldn't throw strikes. It got to be so bad that the other team actually told me they'd swing at anything I threw, just to get the inning over. And the next batter literally closed his eyes and STILL hit a home run.

But I was cool - that is, until after the game when I found out Mrs. Simmons had come to watch me pitch.

I set a world record for tears that night!

Mrs.O'Neal .. she looked exactly like Michelle Pfeiffer from 'Dangerous Minds' but older .. and she was exactly that same character from that movie.. when i see that movie, i think of her ..
