do you tweet ?

I know ... online social networking being overrated and all ... but have you tried twitter.com ? I created an account a few months ago but didn't really use it until now, when I found out that some people in my field of expertise use it and it's added value to my online networking efforts.

So ... are you a twit ? Or do you prefer to stay a twat ?

biggrin

if you don't tweet, you're a twat. That's the essence of the discussion.

It's a whole virtual reality game type thingy...

I don't know if you're into that kind of thing but you create an Avatar that "looks" like yourself and it's all 3-D and stuff... I feel it's more a game than a serious work app but I could just be behind the curve...

be kinda cool for the org tho'... but I digress...

I used it for about 30 mins. my avatar had wings and I could fly (which was neat) but the servers were laggin' and it just came across as wierd, if not fake as hell...

Use it for a meeting?? I dunno...

That's what I got out of it too, very similar to some kinda gaming BS which I'm not into. Someone demo'd it in a meeting last month and I thought it was completely inappropriate for work. But with a lot of these companies they like to jump on a bandwagon without really investigating shit first. shrug I'm shonuf draggin' my feet on this. lol

fuck Secondlife.

Actually, coorps like IBM have golf tournaments and such on SL, and hold meetings there. Something about bringing the global 'virtual teams' together.

As for the 'virtual offices' and representing, most companies (Cisco, Dell, ...) did (or are considering to) close shop.

RodeoSchro

I was flying on a TWA flight once. The stewardess asked me, "Would you like some TWA coffee, TWA soda or TWA juice?"

I said, "I would like some TWA tea".

It was two weeks before my wife would talk to me again. And TWA banned me forever.

So u lean over and give her a kiss
Here on earth, here on earth,

Here on earth, here on earth
eye don't feel so sad
Stay right here
