HELP spyware took over my computer!!!

My entire desktop background is RED and I keep getting pop up messages telling me I need anti-spyware.. On top of that my Mozilla browser keeps popping up on some anitspyspider website asking me if I want to download it. My first instinct is to do it BUT I'm concerned this may be another trap...

My AVG free anti-virus keep popping up with Trogan horse BackDoor.hupgion something or other.. Please, if anyone has any suggestions how I can get rid of this thing I would appreciate it..

AVG should have an option to delete that virus. You should do that.

Adware gets rid of spyware pretty well and it's free. I think that AVG has that function, too.

My Lord. My cousin had the same stuff on his computer. I stayed up all night trying to work with his sick baby. I'm sorry to hear you're having the same issues. AVG has the option of dealing with these viruses via deletion or healing. Since I know you can't heal these, you have to use AVG to delete them properly. Another program you should invest in is called SpyBot Search and Destroy. It does wonders for ailing computers. AVG also has a message board for when you're having trouble. I don't have the exact address of it at the moment, though. Google that.

Also, do NOT trust all the antispyware programs out there that are telling you to download their stuff. Those are traps. It sounds like you just need to run some antispyware and antivirus programs until things are settled. To get things right, it may take some time. Be very careful what you download and where you download things. McAfee SiteAdvisor, a Firefox add on is pretty good with helping folks decide whether or not a site is safe. Then, there is also the add on adblock and NoScript. Take shausler's advice, too. Trend micro house call is a very wonderful tool.

Not iTunes so much. Its mostly those sites we all go to for the "advance" copies of a cd or song. There are also sites/software like Limewire that will infect your computer.

I got some never ending popups yesterday. It occurred when I was searching for tips to replace broken ceramic tile. I had to turn off my computer and run all the spyware and antivirus. Nothing was found. When I have a few minutes, I will restore back to last week.

It's always a good idea to back up the entire contents of your computer on an extra HD. I bought a 500GB Maxtor external HD for 100 bucks recently for just that very purpose.
