Ivy, I feel terrible for your situation. To get such good news about the house and then to have this happen sad I hope she's returned to you safe and sound.

Ivy ~ sweetness ~ I've orgnoted Nathan the phone number for the National Runaway Hotline. Please give them a call and provide information about your daughter so they can contact you if they get a call from her. They will patch her through to you or a family or friend for free and in many cases will provide bus or plane fare for her to return home if she is any distance. If adults have any part in your daughter's disappearance they can be charged with harboring a runaway. It is their legal obligation to notify authorities (police, DHS, etc) if they know where a missing child is. I work at a teen runaway shelter and we are required by federal law to contact parents immediately when a child arrives at our agency. It is the same all over the country and any shelter that receives federal funds will happily comply with that. It is excrutiating for a parent to endure this and kids don't understand. I am sending you all my love and prayers, Ivy and know that your daughter will return soon. I hope you get into your new house and have a complete and united family very soon. Call me if you need anything. hug n

Here is the number in case Nathan has gotten some much needed sleep and someone else speaks with Ivy. It's 1~800~ runaway. their website is www.1800RUNAWAY.org. Their offices are located right in Chicago. Hopefully she has her daughter home safe now.

I asked Ivy if we should contact the media.

Is that too much? If she allowed it, and we got a photo of her and some basic info, do you think we could put something together to submit to Chicago papers/websites?

if ivy is comfortable attracting more attention to the situation, i've heard of people who have started myspace pages dedicated to missing loved ones. just a thought?

The girl who her daughter went with on Saturday will not answer her phone.

She believes that all of her daughter's friends are in on it or else they would be stopping by the house to look for her or calling to talk.

Again, wouldn't it be a good idea to have a serious talk with these friends' parents? If they put some real pressure on their kids to speak up then something is bound to come out of it.

The no-show at school is very concerning, I'd say. Now it's more than just a night out without parental consent.

I agree. It sucks her friends are staying quiet.

I'll continue to think positive.

hang in there sis sad

oh a mama's worries. I would go to the houses of those so called friends parents. Just to let them know that what they may have been told is not the whole story. Looking eye to eye with one or all of those mamas should let them know how distraught you are. Just ask for well being info, you can deal with the other stuff after you know she is safe.

I am praying for you.

Orgers:
please don't alert the media with out Ivy's consent. I know we are all on edge here but let her steer the wheel ok?
