I finally broke up with my ciggies

So far so good!

Last mondayevening I finished my last pack of Marlboro Medium's. I was and still am finally done with the habbit/addiction.

And I must say: I am doing quite well! I thought it was going to be like a period of mourning, but sofar it is not on my mind as much.

I do have the occasional moments when I think of a cigarette, but you can set your clock and see that those were my original sigaret breaks. So now I still go on my break. Still chat with the smokers. I just don't light up and they haven't even noticed that I quit. LOL

I must say I do pray every night that I am given strength, persistance and support in this.

So if you pray too, please add me to your prayer list smile Can't pray enough, I say.

Much love!

Great!!

Hold on, it's not that difficult!

I quit cold turkey almost 2 years ago, and it surprised me how easy it was!

Just as long as you really want it, you will manage!!

After all, it's all in the head!

hug July, I've been very well, Yes! Thank you! Bought me an apartment in the city centre of dynamic Rotterdam! Meeting a lot of new people and discovering new places and hobbies! How have you been?

To all of you who are so supporting: Yes! I am STILL off the cigarettes. 6 days now. This is my first weekend. I am afraid that I eat too much. Especially since it seems that your metabolism slows down once u quit smoking. (AND I hear your metabolism slows down after 30 which is going to be my new age on 1 november) so now I am obsessed of eating vegetables and keeping away from sugar. It is sooooo boring without all of these goodies!

My best friend Princess advised me to be kind to myself and indulge sometimes for the first two weeks. And exercise! So I rollerskate now. And do my Pilates exercises. If I am disciplined in this working_out routine and I keep doing that regularly, I'll treat myself to a subscription on the luxurious gym aroundthe corner next month. But it has to be a routine first.

Thanx for the tips everybody! I'll keep you posted.

Hey: you know what is the BEST feeling of quitting? Even when you hit the occasional 'I-want-a-cigarrette'-wave? That there is NOTHING left that controls ME. Cigarettes controlled me and my money (the amount spent on it, that is) for 17 years. And now I am stronger than this! Stronger than something that seemed stronger for more than half od my life.

That is the best part of this experience.

Keep you posted!
Have a marvelous Sunday.

Thank you so much for your comments and support!
Violet girlfriend! Long time no see! And good for you that you quit. I remember us smoking ciggies in my hotelroom in MPLS. Ah...the joy of nicotine and a nice conversation smile ~daydreaming~....

but seriously: Last night at 6 p.m. I had officially quit one week. I had secretly hoped that all of a sudden: *poof* my craving would go away, but it didn't. There are still 10-minute-waves of cigarette-craving. But that's nothing a glass of water and taking a deep breath can't fix.

MetalMonkey: you can do it! With or without patches. You can do it!

I'll keep you up to date!

Much love and support to my fellow-ex-addicts LOL

America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered.

its true...i remember when i quit, i called m y gramma (who i love more than anything) and i was sooo proud of myself for not smoking for 31 days. and my gramma looked right at me and said "pshhhh...come back and talk to me when youve quit counting the days. OBVIOUSLY you are still totally consumed with it if you are counting every moment that passes that you dont have a cig"

now i have to admit, i was a little hurt by this, because i was so proud of myself, that i wanted her to be porud of me too. but in the end she was right. once i stopped counting, i wasnt thinking of smoking or not smoking anymore.
