I'm all packed!!

I've packed, I've cleaned, now I've opened an Amstel Light. (Leftover from the "packing party" I threw last night...)

Which I had to open by pounding it against a ledge on my porch cause I've packed my bottle openers.

The movers come at 2pm tomorrow and while I'm wholly excited about my new apartment, the bigger space, that I'll have an actual bathtub, hardwood floors, a bedroom and that one of my best friends will be living directly above me (really, the best kind of roommate one could possibly have, one who has their own place), I'm also feeling a little sad, a little nostalgic, for the the era I'm leaving behind me.

This is the apartment that caused the start of the whole invasion madness. It was the thread I started about moving to this very apartment that got Muse to say, I'm coming to Minneapolis! just over 3 years ago.

I'm going to miss my very own porch, my gorgeous landscaped backyard, the vines growing down my own little walkway to my home and dropping the gorgeous leaves all along the way that suck to sweep up, but are so damn pretty I leave them anyway. And of course, I'll miss free laundry.

My kitty that I had since I was 11 passed away while I was living here.

My mother was diagnosed and subsequently beat ovarian cancer during this time.

I spent a hell of a year in the worst depression I can remember, barely leaving my hovel of a basement where I could block out the sun and the world and sleep and cry until it all went away.

OK, so maybe they aren't all good memories.

Which brings me to moving on...

I'm excited to see the change this will have on my life. In a lot of ways, I think it's long past time since I moved up and outta the basement. into the sunshine. And that's how I'm trying to look at it. And I'm excited to create a new space for myself.

You've come along way even just in the past year that Ive read the things that you've been doing for yourself, you're weight loss and the amaznig confidence that you have shown and the encouragement that youve given to others. Yes there were tough times, and good times, but without those there arent any memories to reflect on, and those are the things that helped bring you to where you are now, looking forward to whats next, and thats the most exciting part. Sugar Girl has moved now.

She's set up in the bathroom to stay outta the way of the movers. (And I brought in my wine glasses cause I was too afraid to try to pack them. )

The sad part? It's RAINING!!! Moving in the rain sucks, especially considering it's gonna make things slippery and I'm gonna have to mop my new floors immediately.

But at least I can mop it right up and not worry about stained carpet! And I dont' care about the carpet in the place I"m leaving!

So now I have an hour and 15 minutes to while away until the movers get here. There's not one thing left I can do.
