I just spooed a little (over the new Blade Runner set) and it's coming in HD and Blu-Ray. more here:http://www.thedigitalbits...ounce.html [Edited 7/29/07 14:17pm] Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

thatwebsite said: Blade Runner: The Final Cut, spectacularly restored and remastered from original elements and scanned at 4K resolution, will contain never-before-seen added/extended scenes, added lines, new and improved special effects, director and filmmaker commentary, an all-new 5.1 Dolby® Digital audio track and more.
I feel really ambivalent about the whole concept of messing with movies after they're finished. On the one hand I love the Director's Cut version much more than the original version, and since it is what Scott always intended anyway (no voiceover, downbeat ending etc), that kind of legitimizes its release. On the other hand I think post-release fiddling is in some ways as if Leonardo Da Vinci would step into the Louvre today and make changes to the Mona Lisa. Art is a process, sure, but at some point (which in the case of movies naturally coincides with its release) I think you should decide that it's finished/delivered/conceived and let it stand on its own feet. I'll still watch this new so-called Final Cut of Blade Runner but I'll do so with a fair amount of skepticism.

The cool thing about this set is you have a choice. 4 versions are in the set including the test screening (workprint) version. Probably not. I think there might be some in the porn thread. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

Or someone writing down on their card; "What's smiling at?" The unique path of this movie ensures that in it's own way, every print of that movie is interesting, esp when you find out how Harrison Ford HATED his overdubs. It is great that after years of speculation, you can test every print yourself and have your own geeky opinion.

Watch the trailer for the new doc here:
http://movies.yahoo.com/m...o/#3485021 If you love this movie, you will get goosebumps over the last 10 seconds of that clip. I don't want to spoil it, just go watch it. I'm sure it wasn't booed off stage since it was a painting, not a play. I am however equally sure that Francesco del Giocondo who ordered the painting to be made had opinions on its execution and wouldn't pay until he felt it was complete, as was the case with almost every painting in history. It's extremely rare that an artist has complete and utter control over the finalization, but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be a cut-off date when the piece is considered finished which is why I think the comparison with Leonardo making changes in the Louvre is a valid one.

Goddamn! I read that Bladerunner would be rereleased with a hefty price tag and now I know why. Look at all that stuff! You even get Harrison Ford's police car. I'll be satisfied with just the two or four disc version.

This edition is only $80. I fear for the price tag on the Blu-Ray edition however. It is "TBD". Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

The day before I saw this thread, my brother told me how he and my dad went to see the Transformers movie and they thought it was the greatest sci-fi film ever. I immediately responded, "noooo, that would be "Blade Runner".

I wish Drew Struzan did the artwork for all of the sets and not the just the two-disc edition.
