Significant other..

Is your significant other your best friend? Are they what you envisioned them to be when you were younger thinking of the kind of person you wanted to spend your time/life with. Share..is there something you wish you could have differently in them, but without giving them up to have?

We are each other's best friend, but over the years our similar interests seem to have gotten less and less. I guess that's what I would change.

He is 100000% my best friend...not in a needy way but in a support way. We both have our own social lives. I don't think I really ever had an expectation about who I wanted to be with but all I wanted was love and someone who treated me well. He does all of this for me in addition to being my voice of reason, my cheerleader, confidant and adventure guide. Do I know we have flaws? Yes but that only gives us something to work on!

Can no longer go to the concert (don't ask) if you want my tickets at cost (2) let me know!!!

Never been a person to declare a "best friend". I would say no.
She's not what I envisioned when I was younger.
Yes, I wish some things were different.

That being said
I've known people for 30 years of my life that I would consider better friends, but don't have a family and sleep with them.
When I was younger, I was the co dependent sort that would pick needy girls.
My one isn't
That's normal, I don't know anyone that doesn't. I'm sure she wished I didn't like beer. Other that I'm perfect biggrin

I would have to say I am my own best friend to myself first, always have been. Then everyone else falls into place. Honestly I never really thought about it when I was younger. I was not one to sit around and think about when I was going to get married and what my wedding would be like, etc. There is always something people would like to change about someone else, however you can not change anyone, they have to do it themselves and sometimes they just can't or won't so you have to like with it and except it as part of who they are, provided it is not something harmful or hurtful, etc, etc and as long as the insanity does not drive you frickin crazy.

I sometimes wish I could have married my best friend, but he died some years before I met my husband sad . My husband is a great Father, but I wish we had a better, closer relationship on that beautiful well defined level of [i]best-friendship.[/i]

And I was going to follow up my answer with the phrase, " & yes, she's my best friend", but I figured the word "consistant" pretty much covers that.
