I think maybe full menu should have been in quotes.

It was in all caps on the ad. I'm just thinking that if you are wanting to look for a restaurant, you're not scanning the strip joints as a possibility. "Man, I'm hungry...I'll think I'll go to Hardknockers. I hear their filet minion is exquisite."

Actually, the best strip club in Portland, Oregon is the Acropolis Steakhouse. The food is excellent. Marilyn Manson and Dita Von Teese had their first date there.

Before I became a dancer everything I knew of strip clubs was from TV and stuff. I thought they were all dark and scary but some are and some aren't. They are all so varied. I've worked at different kinds of clubs and they attract differnt kind of guys and different kind of women who work there.

Some clubs are gentleman's clubs where you might have some rich guy just pay you to sit on his lap and drink with him. You usually have to wear long gowns and have accessories on and look glamorous. Some of these clubs are housed in REALLY beautiful buildings and some private rooms like in vegas look like little living rooms with couches and TVs and stuff.

Some clubs are crappy holes in the wall but you still can really make money usually because they are so out of the way that they are like the only club within a 100 mile radius. Sometimes they guys that are around little towns never see really cute girls so they really are nice and like making spending money for dances or just to talk to you.

Then there are fully nude juice bars like Deja Vu...I was a waitress at one but I would NEVER dance in one because it just kinda attracts like eighteen year olds with no money or really creepy older guys.

I'd say there are pros and cons to different kinds of clubs...there is similar bullshit you have to put up with but differences to. Like a gentleman's clubs sometimes rich guys can be real pricks and snotty...but then at the same time you can make alot hanging out talking in a private room all night rarely ever dancing.

Then at a smaller club outside the big city you can deal with some really sweet nice farmer guys who just act like you are the most beautiful woman they have ever seen and are eagar to have you dance for them and really appreciate it...but you are exausted because you danced to like fifty songs.

Then at nude clubs you can make like 100 just doing two songs onstage because guys want to tip you so they look at your stuff but it sucks too because when you do private dances for them they get pissy if they don't get more contact. Usually at places that serve alchohol you can make good money doing pretty clean dances at nude clubs it is kind of expected that you have to get waaay closer to the guy.

All in all strip clubs are very varied for the customer as much as the dancer.

I really enjoy going to the clubs because its fun....not looking for love (because my wife would kill me anyway...whistling) and its not often that attractive women with mostly nice bodies will get buck-kekkid in front of you with no strings attached (after the song ends at least...)

Point of etiquette.....for you guys on perverts row (the seats right at stageside)....if you're sitting there, TIP!!! Stop being so damned cheap because when you clear out and I end up sitting there, I get harrassed to make up for your cheapness....pissed

so get with the times.....grab a brew....gets some one dollar bills.....hike up the chair to the spot on perverts row with the best angle for wrestling viewing and enjoy yourself.....

They can be fun at times, they can be depressing too...all depends..every night I work there is always a different vibe. Definatly an interesting place to be though. I can really see why men like coming there. For me the job suits me personally and I just really appreciate it..sometimes I get frustrated and tired of it(it can be very demanding on you physically, mentally and spritually)...I've tried getting other jobs when I felt burnt out on it and I just can't because it is hard to be somewhere when you know you could be making twice or three times the amount dancing. Plus there are other things that are great about it...you can work as little or as much as you want, if you want to not work for a week you can, you have the money to live comfortably, you can take breaks whenever you feel like it, if some guy is annoying you or making you uncomfortable you can just walk away..you really don't HAVE to deal with anyone you really don't want to. Other jobs just are not like that. You get to talk to people about un PC things and meet all different types of people with different types of lives..and what other job can you drink at work?

It's not for everyone though...you have to have a certain kind of temperment to deal with it..you can't be offended if a guy says he wants to fuck you in the ass for instance..but you also have to learn to not take things persoanlly if a guy says no to you which can be hard..and you have to feel comfortable with people looking at you...before I started dancing I thought it was totally easy..but it's not..it's work... basically it is a sales job but as with any kind of work some people find the rewards far outweigh the cons. I knew one girl who used to work the booths at sex world and I was like "OMG I can't fathom that! I would HATE that job...there is no way I could stick dildos up myself why some strange man jerks off right in front of me!" and she was like "Oh it was so easy. I could NOT handle dancing. Just dancing right on some guy feeling his hard on was enough to make me wanna puke." And to me that doesn't bother me at all. So different jobs work for different people..but dancing has always been good to me.

WOW...that makes sense...everyone has their own hangups about what being an exotic dancer is all about, but that is truly the first time that I've actually heard it from the horse's mouth, so to speak....so thanx...you learn something new everyday..... biggrin From a patron's perspective, if more guys would just enjoy the entertainment value and would stop trying to make it personal (yes she's in some variance of undress, but she IS at work...) then it would be a better experience for all....IMHO....

Trust me, I've been there...I think I put a dancer in Georgia thru college....she had me when she would see me come in the club and would walk over, hug me, and kiss me on the cheek....silly putty...nuts

but I meant personal in the sense of the guy getting all worked up if you're on stage and working some guy on the row for more tips....I had a friend who would either get into fights or get arrested almost everytime his girl worked...thats the kind of personal I'm sure y'all don't want or appreciate....

Hooter's is one of my fave spots....I'm a Sociology major (I'll finish sometime in this lifetime whistling) and it's a great people watching spot...I think its hilarious to watch Dad sitting there trying to pretend there aren't scantily clad women shamelessly flirting while the kid is acting an ass and the wife is sitting there with the pinched face....classic shit!! lol

Yikes! I used to have a regular who got pretty jealous but I guess I can understand. But it is really nice for us-not just finnacially but it is really nice to feel so appreciated and know that just your company is enough to brighten some guy's day. When some guy acts like you are a star in his eyes it makes the job worth it.

Thats odd, I always thought that most of strippers would think yeah you know this guy is a loser spending all sorts of money on me every week, doesn't he have a real lady to spend it on. I remember my buddy saying he felt sorry for some of these girls and i was like dude imagine how they feel about you?

I can attest that its hard not to get wrapped up in that attention when its coming your way....luckily I was a little older than some of the fellas I was going to the clubs with, so I was able to seperate myself from the pitfalls of all that....

No I've really learned to be non judgemental. There are lots of reasons men come there and I'm a compassionate person by nature so sometimes I feel like all the guys that feel lonely or lost are naturally attracted to me. But as an entertainer it is my job to capitolize on that...I've had guys tell me that spending an hour with me was money more well spent and had more of a positive impact on them than with their theripist!! I would never look down or make fun of a man for coming in there...after all they are the reason I have a job.

Isn't it some kind of zoning thing? Like, they have to dedicate a certain percentage of the business to being a regular restaurant or whatever just to stay in the neighborhood or something? I dunno, I remember hearing Howard Stern talk about it in NY & a bunch of clubs were shut down or something shrug
