My cousin's girlfriend had this issue. Her little sister, 13 years old has a myspace account. The entire site is Sexy this and Sexy that. It's crazy. All these little playas writing to her with explicit comments. It doesn't help that she's beautiful.

M I know how to rectify that situation in a heart beat! Either delete the acct or kill your service provider..... Momma don't play that mess..... My daughter only spoke to those she knew...her friends also were those she knew...HOWEVER, those linked to her identified their school and such and left comments in her real name and her pictures were on there.... All pics were removed and all refrences to her name as well..... She is artsy and clever... She now has a pic of her flip flops and favorite sweater on there. Her friends identify her but others can't track her. What occured when I found out was I bet her with my computer knowledge I could track her idenity and location in less then 5 minutes.... She didn't think I could.... It took me some 30 seconds.... I cross refrenced her friends and had her city her school...what area within her school and full name..... I explained that any perp could use this to nail her in a heartbeat too.

You have to give your daughter credit, and I know you do, she seems like a very intelligent and on-the-ball young woman. Not a "space account" -- a "myspace account". Check out http://www.myspace.com/ It's supposedly popular among teens, but it's hardly a phenomenon that's restricted to them. I have a myspace account/page, and so do many of my friends -- and we're in our twenties and thirties. We consider it harmless fun (since we're adults), but it's difficult to ignore the potential for abuse and misuse...

Her children have very much respect for her, and lotsa love too. |

MySpace is crazy. Everyone is OBSESSED with it. I'm a sophmore in high school (15 years old) and almost everyone I know has a page. I have one myself. I don't think it's any more dangerous than being on this site. Also, you don't have to add people that you don't know. It's just as easy to click "Reject" as it is "Accept." Not only has MySpace allowed me to chat with my friends (and some family), but I've found people who I'd lost touch with. I don't think it's appropriate when young girls (even younger than myself) have provocative pictures of themselves with hardly any clothes on. I have a friend who is in the eighth grade (13 years old) with all these pictures of herself in her bra and she's just your "average" 13 year old girl. Another thing I just don't understand are the pictures of people smoking weed. WHY would you do that!? Anyways, I think it's ok for teenagers to use MySpace and to have pictures of themselves up, but I don't necessarily think they should go around adding people they don't know personally. Also, you can set your page to private, so that only the people on your friends list can view your page. This might be helpful to concerned parents? Well, just my view on MySpace...I'm quite addicted. www.myspace.com/lrcorvette90 This love is a private affair...

This is why my daughter has no email or "myspace" (or any other "space" for that matter) accounts. Right on Musenator. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Thanks for sharing! I see you are 15 but your myspace looks like you are 17? I only urge that you consider your name and highschool and even what afterschool activities are contained in your profile. If I were a perp I could easily seek you out. Maybe you can remove your school title? I would imagine your friends would link you right to it either way...Which is the case with my daughter so I asked her to remove her photos all the way around. She was bothered some but her creativity took over and she asked if she could put her flip flops and hoodie in a shot. I was pleased with the creativity. She is clever and I adore that in her. I am by far not attempting to be an over protective parent but a girl that well knows this world aint all shes cracked up to be..... As a woman who lives with the attempted rape of her sister on a school campus in the bathroom in the 4th grade..... I well know that it doesn't always happened to someone else.....I live with the damage it does to a family..... I am however balanced... I didn't ask her to delete it... just inforce some safe gaurds. Thankyou for the private info... Once she does so and it works effectively.... I may change my stance some. It is clear you have your head on your shoulders.

I can't answer that..... It depends on a good many factors.... I'll let it stand on those that know my family mechanics around here that I am right on this one.
