OPEN UP A BOOK and turn to page

.

Open up a book and turn to page 45. Go to the 5th sentence.

Apply that sentence in someway to the way you'll be attacking your day.

NOTE: Don't look for a cool book. Just grab the one closest to you.

From Umberto Eco's Baudolino which has sat by my bed for months, waiting to be read...

"They do not recognize the great vassals, lord of field and forest, because fields and forests belong to the cities - except perhaps the lands of the marquess of Monferrato and a few others."

Not sure how to tie that one into my day, but okay.
Insatiable taught me everything I know about balls.

Page 45 is a break between chapters so I went with the next closest page of text, p. 47:

"Outide the shrine a blackbird sings in dark purples."

That ties into my life in the sense that I haven't yet had a chance to read this book and it is haunting me like a blackbird singing outside a shrine.

But for now, something simpler possessed his heart, something bright and hard and unshakeable: vengeance.

Does this mean I should not go drink a beer with my ex?

I was hoping you wouldn't ask, but since I cannot tell a lie:

Yes. Complete with pictures and lots of candles and a bit of incense. I'll be sacrificing a goat in your honor tonight.

It's from The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. It is actually the third sentence.

This, once again, makes a great deal of sense.
