Do you use Closed Captioning on your TV.....but you're not deaf?

This irritates the hell out of people....but I love closed captioning on my T.V. Am I the only one with this "annoying" habit?

It's set to be on when the sound is muted.

If it's late at night, or people are over, or I'm cleaning the house it can come in handy.

They use closed-captioning on the TVs at the bars I frequent. Some of that stuff is hilarious, like they'll describe a scene in comma's saying (jazzy backround music playing) or something like that. Why would someone who is deaf even care?? lol.

The typos are insane on that too, lol.

I love using closed captioning on my TV. and yes, it irritates the shit

out of people, which is one of the reasons I use it smile

especially with live tv, I have the volume up but still use the closed

captioning so that there is always about a 15 second delay in the words

on the screen and the actual words coming from the speakers.

it drives visiters up the wall. it's fantastic woot!

Using closed caption on TV is a serious habit I've had since I was about 10 years old! confused

I guess being in2 Sound engineering I'm preparing myself about 40 years in advance where my ears will be severely impaired due 2 a lifetime of aural overload! music

I only use it when my girlfriend is watching TV with me. And movies always have to be with subtitles wall

She's Italian but even though her English is really good I think she just likes to piss me off that way. I have a widescreen TV, so with closed captions, all the image gets squashed mad
