5 things I wonder about Prince.

Since Prince jived about music being for real musicians back in 2004, what does he think now about the way the music industry is like, in that people like Justin Bieber, Diggy Simmons, Rihanna, and Kanye West are what is being distributed in the mainstream out there?

I am a huge fan of 1996, the Chaos and Disorder album. I love Prince's guitars on it. I was wondering has he brought it back, the guitars in such a dramatic fashion? Rock! Like on Purple Rain and Rave? And if not, will he ever?

What does Prince think about heavy metal?

I am a firm believer that Prince has smoked weed. What do you think Prince's current view is on it, personally and politically?

Does Prince listen to electronic music? And if so, has he heard of Otto Von Schirach, an electronic band who sampled When Doves Cry in a track? It's an awesome song, I wonder if anyone thinks they have an influence from Prince also.

have u heard this song DONT PLAY ME off the truth?

l

Don't play me
I'm over 30 & I DON'T SMOKE WEED<------
I put my ass away & music I've played
aint the type of stereo U're tryin to feed
Don't play me
Don't play me
I use proper English & I'm straight
I'm in the news again for paying dues my friend
And not the type of ganda U prop in my way
Don't play me

Don't play me
I've been to the mountain top & it aint what U say
Don't play me

Don't play me
I'm the wrong color & I play guitar
My only competition is well in the past
Time & time if time existed movin ever so fast
Don't play me

U couldn't play enough of me now
2 make me feel like a star
Don't play me I already do in my car
Don't play me

Don't be mad at me
The curtain puller in the game
Maybe how U call us Niggers aint the same
It's all good when u know the only fame
Is the light that comes from God & the joy U get to say his name
Don't play me

Don't play me
I've seen to the mountain top & it aint what U say
Don't play me

Already got laid

Yes I have the Crystal Ball set. Prince didn't smoke weed at the time that song was written. I wonder about a few years later, Rave, on the Rave DVD, "Time is a trick". What was that?

Well, Jehovah's Witnesses are against smoking because they believe that their body is a gift from God and should be treated as a temple, not 'violated'.

Animosity between the two groups developed as they tended not to socialize after the show, plus Rick James and his crew were heavy into drinking and doing drugs, something Prince avoided.

I think he should try some Thai. Not too strong, not too weak. And it doesn't give you hangovers like Skunk does.

I don't think he's ready for a bong-hit hit yet, tho.

What makes these acts any different to pop performers from any other time in the last 60~ years?

Prince was putting out records for Tevin Campbell, TC Ellis and Carmen Electra let's not forget.

Well said. In the history of pop music, there have always been singers/groups that have mass marketed/produced and have good looks , but minimal talent. Hell, that's part of the tradition of pop music. It's not a lot different now than it has ever been in that regard...

very true, but the only difference between now and then is back then ,even tho some artist had minimal talent, they still had good music and a quaity production. now most of them dont even have that much.

I wonder if Prince is getting worried about getting any offspring? It would be a tragedy for the human race if P. would somehow not get to pass his talent on to a son.

lol That gets me everytime I hear it. If time is a trick, than so is gravity and air because we don't see them either but they obviously exist...someone let Prince know. nod

This is exactly what I think. it will be a real tragedy, but I think he thinks he's through from the accident back in 96'. That was terrible, and he'll never forget that. I bet he's like, "Well, it's just not meant for me to have kids." But then I listen to 'Future Baby Mama', "None of you have what it takes to be future baby momma..."

Hmmm, I still find it strange and even my family members are surprised at the fact that Prince, of all people, didn't have any, at least known, 'oopsies' or knock-ups with women, figuring how much sex he had with Lord knows how many women. He was a careful mutha-sucka. But I guess. But then I listen to "Baby" from For You. Then I remember how he said he just liked to put himself in situations on that album.

Yes, at 19, I finally saw the Revolution, a legendary band. And I talked to Wendy!!! biggrin In addition to seeing Prince, I have now lived life. Thank you Purple People!!

The question about weed shouldn't be whether or not he's smoked it, but in his belief system, if someone was chronically ill, is he for or against medical marijuana.

I don't know if it's the case with him, but some musicians make a point to not listen to what's contemporary out there, because they either get competitive or their music starts sounding like it.

Yes, forget climate change; forget over-populations and the increasing strains on diminishing resources; forget religious zealots willing to kill in the name(s) of imaginary entities, the biggest tragedy to the human race would be some artist called Prince not having any offspring.

I implore young, healthy, fertile women to demand that Prince impregnate them.
