Lovesexy CD

Why can't you go into a store and buy that CD anymore? Anybody get one before they quit making them?

Anybody digged "Anna Stesia"?

I see it in stores all the time. Check a local mom and pop second hand record store. Buy local.

I ran across an Euro pressing that was tracked, instead of one big track. But it wasn't the German pressing that is rather popular. This Euro version had a fade at the end of each track, which really messed up the flow of the songs. Someone (maybe Militant?) mentioned it on here before. But it was still a cool find.

I need to get it on LP again. I have more 12" singles than albums and need to fill the gaps.

I saw it in the "Prince" section at the CD stall at the flea market. Used CDs go for $8.00 there

I think I got mine for about $6; the tracked one that is. I never pay much for 2nd hand stuff. 1: it's second hand, and 2: I've probably already bought it a few times before, I don't need to pay full price again.

It may be used but at least the disc has no scratches and plays like brand new. I'd rather buy used than pay full price of $18.00 or more for the same thing at a store.

If you're ever in Mpls, the Electric Fetus has it on cd new. Probably $10. Cheapo Records too, about $13. I see it all the time at both stores.

That's not the Euro pressing. What you've got there is the US Radio Promo version (which is a lot rarer). It's tracked and fades off at the end of each song, so Radio DJ's could play specific track without worring about them segueing into the next track.

The Euro pressing doesn't have the fades and all the tracks segue into eachother as normal. But it is tracked, so you can easliy skip to the song you want.

I really doubt that Lovesexy is out of print since WB holds complete ownership. It's possible that they need to run a new pressing again like they did a couple years back, which is why a store wouldn't be able to get it at the moment. Last time they ran out, US brick-and-mortar shops imported the tracked Euro CD to have it in stock.

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Yup, our (chain) music stores in the UK sell Lovesexy for £5, it's been that price for a looong time now.

I don't think it is out of print, not as long as WB holds the reigns.

do you really find any prince cds in music stores anymore? except for best of, purple rain, maybe 1 or 2 others. hes just not the top of the charts anymore and thats about all you find in stores now, unless you have a cool mom & pop place near you.

I'ts the same with the UK, the chainstore music shops and even the smaller independent record shops stock very little Prince, a handful at most, even WB albums are hard to come by.

There is one chain store in the UK that stocks some other Prince cd's from time to time. last year for example they had a huge pile of copies of N.E.W.S, they were brand new, as is everything in the shop and were selling for a very low £3, which is around $5. Other cd's over the last couple of years were Emancipation at £3, Rave Un2, and Chaos & Disorder. They must just get in huge quantities and sell them off for a couple of pounds.

This is the same shop that sells the 21 Nights book, still sealed for £5.

When a new Prince album is released, they stock armfulls of the cd, then you never see it again unless someone orders it.

Off topic, I know, but Wal-Mart is selling Parade for $5.00. They have severely reduced thier CD shelf space in recent years, but now have rows of discounted CDs at $5.00 apiece. Strangely, Parade is among the titles, which also include Bryan Adams, Journey, those "Super Hits" series titles and quite a bit of country.

Yes. I've seen some at HMV and they are priced at today's prices for something put out a long time ago.

But is the selection poor?

Our HMV shops have 5-6 at most, and one of those is Ultimate.

That's great, there must be the demand for them where you are.

The last time HMV where i am stocked a large selection of Prince was the mid nineties.

You should get the Shm- CD. You can get them from Japan or on Ebay. There is a tread about them. They rerelased all his 80's stuff in these replica min LP versions. To me the sound is much better than the regular CD's, but that all opinion.
