Intentional Technical Difficulties?

we all know Prince is a pretty quirky dude. i was wondering if certain technical difficulties are intentional. a few cases in point

Raspberry Beret - cough. - i remember hearing he thought it was a good idea to leave it in

Black Sweat - the drum pattern seems like it "skips" out of rhythm near the end of the musical part of the bridge

Walk in Sand/Sea of Everything - the abrupt ending in how the songs flow together (this could be a glitch from the download and not the case on actual "professional" copies of the cd)

Others? nothing else is coming to mind right now. but i thought about this when i was listening to Sea of Everything (its in heavy rotation right now)

there's that horrible skip in the opening seconds of "From the Lotus..."

i doubt it's intentional, but it's annoying as hell. easy enough to fix with a wav editor though.

I'd say one of the most famous intentional technical difficulties would be the beginning of America.

Maybe not what you mean but what comes to mind is that out-of-nowhere beeping toward the end of the song "Lovesexy"

The segue before "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" on The Gold Experience is all "scratched". Lame. You think he'd catch that.

Hmm, but this thread is for intentional ones...

- The mic distortion in "Little Red Corvette"

- Saying "trampoline" over and over in "Tambourine"

- Saying "I never meant to cause you any paint" in "The Purple Medley"

- Tony M's voice?

I love that beep, it's like he got too erotic and censored himself. It makes me laugh.

Ive always wondered about the one is "Something In The Water (Does Not Compute).

Right before he says, "Why in Gods name do you want to make cry," he says something like "Come On" and there is a sound like the cord came out of his guitar and he's plugging it back in.

Weird.... hmmm Or was that the computer??

I think the most obvious Technical glitch (though more human error) occurs in Forever In My Life when he recorded the backing vocals a bar too early.

To his credit he left them in and the song is better for it.

Yeah, that's a great one. I love that bit. It's like the computer has gone from 'not computing' to malfunctioning cool

At :04, there is an audible set of crackles from the sound of vinyl sound effects. One specific pop is pretty loud and sounds more like a defect of the audio.

That's precisely what he did.

I believe he is referencing nutting deep in the broad and he bleeps out "come" from the line.

I wonder why this was left in. Is it just an MP3 issue and not on the actual pressed CD? I never opened my official copy cuz I already had the leaked version and the album didn't make me go nuts so I never bothered.

it's on the CD too.

maybe that's why that engineer turned him over to debt collection. wasn't getting paid, so there was nobody to catch that lol

Nah, it's on the CD as well. It certainly looks like a defect. A massive pop just before the rhodes comes in. I edited it out as well, but it's possible it was intentional, or intentionally left in (for what purpose though, other than to annoy the shit out of audio-tech-heads, I have no idea lol)

It's clearly not an error but the out of time Pop Life which, if you a really unfortunate, can be a problem if the wrong speaker blows on your stereo.

The distortion in LRC is annoying and if you really crank up the segued on prince you can hear all sorts if stuff going on in the background like a canteen.

Oh THAT beep.

He's also slightly confused by thinking dogs would be interested in menstruating cats

can anyone confirm if the end of Walk In Sand & the beginning of Sea of Everything on an "official" European version of 20Ten has the abrupt transition?

Where?

on the downbeat of the band's entrance, like i dunno 6-7 secs in. there's the keyboard intro and then a millisecond before the band kicks in there's a pop, sounds more to me like a bad punch having listened again
