What was the last CD you considered as essential to your collection..

..and I'm talking in the league of say Purple Rain, SOTT etc i.e. A cd that your collection must not be missing at all. For me I have to say that LF [obviously the single disc] still blows me away and it is the last 'must have' in the collection.

Over to you!.

Probably LotusFlower, mainly because its one of only 2 albums I consistently go back and listen to from the 2000s.

If I'm thinking I can't live without like I can't live without Purple Rain...I'd have to say Musicology I'd be very sad without..got to listen to that cd daily. Lotusflower and 20Ten are pretty necessary for my collection too, but Musicology is just in my book on the same page with Purple Rain, SOTT, and TGE. Though honestly, most of Prince's cds are essential as just about every cd has a few songs I couldn't live without. And all of his last 4 cds have been like that for me.smile

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

If I'm generous, I'd say TRC. If not, Lovesexy.

Being a completist, it had to be 20ten. My collection wouldn't be complete without it.

Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

single disk Lotusflower is the best Prince record in 15 years easy, but it being associated with MPLSOUND which is amongst the absolute worst of the worst (right there with The Rainbow Children) really taints it in some way for me.

20ten, surprisingly. I'm fairly lukewarm toward a lot of Prince's 2000s output, but 20ten hit all the right notes for me.

I've seen the future, and boy it's rough...

Definitely 20Ten because it has not been released in the States. Even though I'm not loving it, I had to have it.

I'd say The Rainbow Children.

Lotusflow3r, however, is quite underrated... even by me. Everytime I listen to it, I'm surprised at what I've slept on. Whether it goes down as quintessential Prince, though, won't be decided until I have a few more years to view it in retrospect.
