Walk In Sand needs to be a single!

Yeah, I like the song that much. Its the song Robin Thicke wish he wrote; it just has this intimate classic feel, it just needs to not end so abruptly. probably just fade out, with some sexy Prince come on adlibs. And the joy, it just works. Probably the best ballad before Musicology, and the most relatable track on 20ten. Yeah, I know it probably won't even see a US release, but still, I say we petition some radio stations or something.

Prince has done it wrong many a time in the past by releasing the totally wrong choice as a single.

Had he released WIS as a single, it would be the ACME of wrong choices.

As all his latest ballads (especially since Better With Time), this one is soporific, dull, inane, nonsensical, boring...

Then what kind of ballad wouldn't be juvenille and grating? and it doesn't have to be a Prince song, Vitriol, I just want to see where you're coming from.

As for Better With Time, I feel that song doesn't go anywhere, as pleasant sounding as it is. I really feel that Walk In Sand at the very least has a beautiful and strong melody.

Exactly. I also think, if I wanted to make a case for Prince talent, or set the mood for a date I would totally want this to play.

I heard that track through a friend of mine. Part of that song reminds me of "Walking in the Rain" by the 70s Barry White influenced group, "Love Unlimited". Reminds me of a 70s r&b ballad. It would work just fine on a station that plays r&b.

"Walk In Sand" definitely needs to be a single. The best ballad on the album, in my opinion the best song!

I'm so glad I'm not jealous of Prince's talent! I think this would be an awesome release. Prince has not lost his touch for making a cool jam. He's still funky with Sticky Like Glue and Act of God. Of course, this is my opinion so some may not agree.... imagine that. smile

Agree here. Definitely a way to showcase Prince's talent in creating ballads.

After reading your post I went on youtube to hear the song and came across this amazing fan generated video for walk in sand (20 Ten) by eduardoJai. Everyone should really check it out.

Mmm ... I'm fine with the song just how it is: on my iPhone, iPod and in my car on CD. I don't need it to be recognized by the record companies to put on a CD Single of some sort, but I'm feelin' you ...

Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

The entire cd, in my opinon, is excellent. I love the transition that Prince has been making. Some don't dig it, and I can understand why. I, however, think this music is cool to listen to. When I'm out driving or writing articles for my job I listen to it. I'm also one of the few that likes "Hot Summer"... probably 'cuz I play guitar. I've always liked some of his quirckier stuff anyway. If it wasn't played on the radio, I liked it even more. I could put my list of funk jams, love jams and rock jams on separate cd's and play whichever one I am in the mood for. Although his new music isn't considered "radio-worthy" by some, or pure hogwash by some orgers, it is still far better than anything I hear out there right now. Lady Gaga?? Give me a gagabreak!! Justin Bieber? That chick needs to stick to her modeling... wait, someone in the room just told me that chick was a dude... wtf?

eek
