back in 1996 he said he aimed for the biggest section by any artist in the record stores

but if he keeps up this way, he will end up with 4 albums in stores max.

everything since emancipation is being released through weird channels and is out of

print before you can say "20Ten deluxe", lol.

i'm affraid to even count how many of his albums are either out of print or were never

even on sale in an actual store to begin with. add to that all the internet releases that

are now no longer available online in any format and all his recent 'radio releases' as

i'm starting to call them (turn me loose, cause n effect etc etc) and a lot of his own one

off stuff (funk, song of the heart, sst etc) and his output is so scattered that i think he's

already forgetting himself just what the heck he did and did not release.

forget about the 20Ten deluxe, how about pulling everything together for a change and

get all those songs on actual cd's or at least in 1 place online.

oh wait, the internet is dead. that's what makes me the most sad. if this idea that the

internet is dead to him continues, and instead he keeps releasing albums like this, he

is gonna end up with a catalogue of material that you had to be present for at the time

or even the day of release, to secure an actual copy.

back when he had a website, there was at least the possibility of something popping up

quite unexpected or of stuff like a deluxe version being available online. but now he's

got to go through retail outlets/channels before he can release anything and with his

track record that means most ideas will never be released at all.

altho, judging from lotusflower, the thought of releasing material online was already

well and truly over before he pulled the plug on the internet.

Interesting read.

I do feel that choosing retail outlets and magazines are for a quick fix. The money and the finished product(Album) is very easy to achieve for P.... Open up the back catalogued(Not the good stuff) put together an album then give it away...For a nice advance.

Paisley park is a very expensive play ground. He's gotta fund it some how, and now-a-days, artists aren't getting paid the way they used too....Thats way P keeps to 'Re-invent' Himself to meet a need.

I remember reading articles about P wanting to release 3 albums a year, and wanting a massive catalogue of Albums, but.....He knew there was absolutly no money in that.

I think the Internet was a great tool for Mr.P. NPGMC was amazing, we were getting a New song every month. The out-put wasn't fantastic, but hey, its a new track...

I think P really needs to use the internet, and harness it for his advantage.. its a perfect tool for him.

I had a very helpful delivery boy swim all the way to Australia with my copy of the Mirror earlier this year (as is my understanding of how it got to my mailbox) - I don't mind unconventional means, I just like to know there's a legitimate channel for us to get the new stuff!

20Ten would be one of the first albums I wouldn´t love to see a Deluxe edition being released.

I'm afraid I don't have any solid information on that just yet. Will see if I can find anything out.

I'd guess that some of the songs recorded with Chris Coleman and Tal Wilkenfeld might be on there though.
