If There was a US version of 20Ten .... would it be different?

P, has to know its circulating like mad, so if/when he releases 20Ten stateside, he'll have to do something to drive ppl to buy it. i suspect 3-4 new tracks, maybe an ext'd version of Laydown

Thread title should actually read: US version of 20Ten will be different, IMO - but I won't phrase it like that, because this way more people will click the thread, tee-hee!

Nonsense. Planet Earth was no different, why would 20Ten be? You're hoping for something that will never ever happen (kind of like that Revolution reunion people are still fawning for).

I must say, I WILL buy this CD if released in the U.S. It's been a long while since I've liked more than half the songs on a Prince Album.

I agree with NouveauDance, your post title is misleading. Shame on you sad

The difference with Planet Earth was that it was planned as a worldwide record store release, but Prince suddenly decided to give it away in the UK, halting plans to put it on store shelves in the UK whilst everywhere else goes ahead as PLANNED. 20ten has only been planned as a European give away as far as you know.....So this time, they can plan things for future releases if that is his wish.....So errr, not a "nonsense" theory is it.

I'm beginning to think that, but I have my UK copy. However, there have been heavy rumors that a late summer (late Sept) release will happen for the United States. Time will tell.

Wait....time is a trick. Sooooo, that means something, right?

If it was too sophisticated for us why did we get it the way we did anyway? And you might've as well add:

Australia

New Zealand

Hong Kong

Japan

South Africa

Russia

Scotland

France

Italy

Switzerland (where Lavaux was an inspiration for the song)

Canada

South America

The Netherlands

Spain

...and some other countries.

ONLY England, Ireland, Portugal, Germany and Belgium GOT the album through newspapers. It wasn't ALL of Europe.

Plus besides from some fans who WERE able to get it through newspapers, MORE AMERICANS were actually posting POSITIVE REVIEWS of this album.

So if it was too sophisticated, all of us would've said it sucked...and that clearly wasn't the case.

In a way 20Ten was already released to everyone who had an internet connection (be it free, order on Daily Mirror or Ebay).

Then why hasn't he moved out of the U.S. then? It's obvious he still got some love if he still got Paisley Park in operation. We don't know if he hates it so much, that's a presumption. You think if he loved Europe that much, all of Europe would've gotten the album, did they? No.

Especially with how many folks around here say they're in the "business" and such. You'd think we would have some bit of info. I dunno. There's been mentions of 20Ten being released here in the U.S. in some of the recent articles we've seen so I will remain hopeful.

If no one has a clue about what he's planning for the album here by now, then it's kinda unlikely. But I'm glad y'all trying to hold on though. lol

Lol. Well I try to be optimistic. But also realistic. I just think without any confirmation at all it seems unlikely at this point. But I would love to be proved wrong.wink
