She's jut a baby instead of an unreleased Kiss remix and you have a good collection. Too bad it went the way of many of his projects.

Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

It's not that it's too short. It's just that what's circulating is just a sample.

I just love it's potential.

I can hear Adore and Crucial in it ... and a good bit of Parade feel.

Despite the occasional "crap", I hope we realize that the man is infrickingsanely rediculously talented!!

I hear this... and then I think of Purple and Gold... and I'm like... DUDE! lol Seriously??? SERIOUSLY?????

I might just have to break into this vault of his!

If Ke$ha can sneak into his house, my ass can break into his vault.

I NEED THE FULL VERSION OF THIS SONG!!!!

Who's with me?????????????????????

The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

Adonis and Bathsheba is sooo beautiful. I just fell in love with it when I first heard it...

Have you heard "Nightingale" by Prince circa 1976/1977 for the "For You" album? It is also a beautiful....cool cool

Romeoblu

Susan Rogers slagged the song off.

But I've seen alot love for from fans since the snippet surfaced.

Personally I love it. It sounds just how I imagined it would sound.

Genius.

I pray one day it see's the light of day.

I always wondered why songs nobody had any clue what they actually sounded like were picked.

There's still a few on their that mean nothing to anyone barring interesting titles.

you can just imagine..all those HARD CORE FAMS at the celebration trying to "outboot" each other choosing shit like katrina and american jam pretending they had on on "grainy cassete" and were in the process of cleaning it up whilst drooling down their NPG limited edition hockey tops...

Yeah, I think Romeoblu is thinking of Eric Leeds's thoughts of the song. At least I think I got that right. It was Eric who said he thought the song was silly. I never understood that sentiment, but to each his or her own.

I personally think the song is gorgeous, unless it takes a weird ass turn that the circulating sample doesn't divulge.

Incorrect. Susan Rogers is the person who dissed "Adonis and Bathsheba" in an interview.

one of the worst Prince songs ever. There is a reason it hasn't come out.

The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

I was one of the lucky ones who got to choose from the list, and really, I had to go with "interesting titles" for many of my picks. lol

I believe there was also a question put forth on his little multi-colored iMacs as to which album he should release next. Choices were something like:

Piano Album

Guitar Album

Crystal Ball II

and others...

Does anyone remember the exact choices we had for "the next album" from that Celebration?

Yes, there were 8 choices for 'next album'...

1. Crystal Ball II (a collection of previously unreleased songs)

2. Roadhouse Garden (a Prince and the Revolution album)

3. Live Album (choose your era)

4. Rock Guitar Album

5. Madrid 2 Chicago (a smooth jazz album)

6. When 2 R In Love: The Ballads of Prince

7. Cover Versions

8. New Studio Album (choose preferred style)

.

Thank you Boris!

Am I correct that the 2000 Celebration had both questions 1)"Crystal ball II - Choose the tracks" and 2)"Which album next"? The Vault book states the "Which album next" question was posed at the 2001 Celebration, but I didn't go to the 2001 Celly (only the 2000 and 2002 events), though I distinctly remember voting for the guitar album and picking songs for Crystal Ball II. Actually, The Vault mentions a 2003 Celebration, but obviously that's an error.

Is my memory wrong, or The Vault's text wrong?

I also believe the interview went on to reveal that Prince seemed hurt by her comment & abandoned finishing the song as a result.

Having listened to the circulating sample, I can only hope that was not an accurate account of what happened, as it sounds wonderful and far from incomplete. Unless it does indeed deteriorate into a state of incompleteness after the samples fade out.

Yes, it included both questions. So you could choose which album Prince should release next from the list of 8 options. Plus you got to choose from the list of songs which ones should be included on Crystal Ball II.

I would have loved whatever album that would have been, Go has a similar feel

Yes, it was mentioned by Susan Rogers that they didn't work on the song much after her criticism. But Prince did tell Eric Leeds that he thought the lyrics were some of the best he's ever done.
