New Sananda: Love Is Blind.

Not bad, since that Mr Magoo song is hot garbage.

love TTD and it's a really good song with a great vocal performance.

too bad that the recording is distorted/clipping.

unless it is done on purpose for the youtubes and the paid-for recording sounds better?

The new Sananda double-album was launched on 11 May! "Sananda Maitreya's The Pegasus Project: Pegasus and the Swan."
>
There's a 90-minute press conference for it on YouTube and the whole collection of songs is available to listen there & on multiple streaming platforms.
>
The album features production collabs, additional singers, and revisits some special "Post-Millenium Rock" songs with string quartet and orchestra arrangements. There's Pop, Rock, R&B, a dash of Reggae styles featured, and an acapella and a poetry/spoken-word piece included. He doesn't hold back on his brand of humor, peppered throughout.

It's cool stuff to me! razz

"Love Is Blind" sounds to me like a club song paticularly that's gonna get blasted at max volume at those venues and was probably recorded in the style to telegraph that energy, is my guess!

This is a terrific song and a bit of a departure from recent years in terns of style and production.

I have no issue with the clipping, which I assume is a choice.

I'm a little over halfway through (taking my time). In terms of production, consistency, accessibility adn overall quality, it is sounding like his best since WildCard! It's not bland - his eccentricities still come through, and I wouldn't have opened with The Birthday Song and Mr. Magoo, which have their moments but aren't reflective of what's to come.

I may have the opportunity to see him in a french festival.
Problem is that he s not playing his TTDA songs anymore.
That's a situation just beyond ludicrous.

I heard some new songs with lyrics video. One was called The Ballad of Rod Steiger. That could have been funny if it lasted 2 minutes, but it lasts like 7 minutes during which he is constantly forcing his voice.
I tried to listen to new material, but heck, he s releasing triple albums when he has not enough good material to make half of one.

What the hell happened to him? From the start he had an oversized ego ( read his first interviews, the guy is like I m the new Beatles, Prince is a colleague, etc.), but too bad he never got to be humble after the failure of Neither Fish Nor Flesh.
Because he had some talents. Here in France, everybody in his thirties know at least 3 songs from him. That s as much as for Prince for the general audience here.

I'm a huge Prince fan but so he did by pretending he won't sing anymore Prince songs...

Indeed "what happened to him"? The first three albums are good even some B-sides ("Perfumed Pavillion", "Survivor"...)

I like some songs here and there, beside his third which is great.
His first album sold in France like Prince never, ever did.
The Vibrator album is still better than a y other D Angelo album though.

By the way,i can understand he had some problems with his label- but not to the point of not performing his well-known songs.

Those who said Prince went too far with the Slave things were out of their mind.

15 years ago, a father's Friend told me that he wasn't a good artist. I didn't agree. He told me TTDA was a forgotten piece of shit because he never got to connect with his audience and was too arrogant.

TTDA wasn't Prince but was a good " little artist. Beyond the 90's it s unlistenable to me. He should be mroud of what he did before.

You can say anything about Prince he never was that dushbag.

Enduring artist have to be sympathetic, singing songs echoing to everyone.

Artists have the ability and desire to change, as change and circumstance desires--that's no different for the former-TTD. I hate to hear about bitter old fans' nagging this talented man's trip!

BTW, here's an April 5 interview article from The Guardian, composed of readers' questions to the artist and his responses:

Sananda Maytreya:’I hyp... genius’

cool
